For years the best analogy for organizations was a machine. They existed to produce a particular product or service. But we like many others view organizations as living organisms. The etymology of the two words: organization and organism suggests that the two terms share something much more significant that needs to be considered and looked at. Organizations like living organisms can be considered healthy when they are whole, consistent and complete: when its management, operations, strategy and culture fit together and make sense. Thus, any kind of work with organizations has to have the wholistic approach for transformation to take place.
